Valentine’s day is coming up, so I thought I would share this important money tip with you guys.
One of the most important financial decisions you will make is who you marry. Choose wisely.
I have worked with many doctors who got divorced several years ago and are still struggling financially because of it, because they ignored some red flags from their partners, didn’t think it could happen to them, to name a few.
-Make sure that you have similar financial goals as your partner and they’re your biggest fan
-Be comfortable talking about money
-Protect your assets
-Consider talking to a lawyer and significant other about getting a prenup. It might be a difficult conversation but yet, a necessary one. It doesn’t mean that you will get divorced, but if you ever do, it will help make the process easier when going through all the emotions. It’s like having a fire extinguisher at home…it’s there just in case 🤷♀️
-Consider premarital counseling. Counselors are trained to bring up potential issues that you probably would have never thought about.
